Release Date

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree is set to launch on Friday, June 21. Mark your calendars and perhaps take a day off for an uninterrupted dive into the game. Although official confirmation is pending, there are rumors that pre-loading might be available two days prior to the release, so keep an eye out if you’ve pre-ordered.

Story Details

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

While the full story for Shadow of the Erdtree remains under wraps, we know it will focus on Queen Marika and the mysterious Land of Shadow, a new realm alongside the Lands Between. This DLC will delve deeper into the lore of Miquella, an Empyrion demigod who plays a significant role in the Elden Ring mythos. Expect encounters with new characters, including Messmer the Impaler, an exiled demigod with a fiery, serpentine theme.

Accessing Shadow of the Erdtree

To access the new content, you’ll need to reach Miquella’s cocoon, located after defeating Mohg, Lord of Blood in Mohgwyn Palace. You can get there by completing White Mask Varre’s quest or finding a portal in the east of the Consecrated Snowfields. Make sure you’re prepared for this before the release.

New Features

Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree

Shadow of the Erdtree will introduce significant new content:

Communicate Stratagem Deployments Before deploying powerful stratagems like an Orbital 380MM HE Barrage, warn your teammates. It prevents accidental friendly fire and keeps everyone in the fight. Maximize Your Mission Time Don’t just rush to the main objective. Take time to complete secondary objectives, gather resources, and finish additional missions to enhance your loadout for future endeavors.
